Longevity, Interpreted.

How to read the evidence ladder

Every claim in this publication is graded by what kind of evidence it rests on -- never a numeric score, always one of these.

Three things that sit beside the ladder

Not every citable thing is a study of a treatment. These never get a diamond count -- showing one would claim a step on the ladder they were never meant to occupy.

Measurement. Is the test itself reliable? Not a claim about a treatment.

Review. The text says what it pooled; it inherits the stage of what it pools.

Not a study. News, a registration, a funding round, a commentary -- no study design at all.
